Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro Delayed Due to Quality Issues

Just pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro? You'll have a wait a little longer to get them in your ears.

Did you watch Samsung Galaxy Unpacked or read some of the many early impression articles and ordered a pair of those shiny new Galaxy Buds 3 Pro earbuds? I’ve got some bad news for you. According to Android Authority, Samsung suspended earbuds shipments to retailers due to quality control issues with the ear tips. Some people who got their hands on the buds early complained that the ear tips tear easily when taking them off the earbuds.

If you’ve ever had to swap out ear tips, you’ll find that taking them off can be a hassle, depending on how they fit on the earbuds. So, the chance you might ruin the tips while trying to secure a comfy fit is not good news.

At first, Samsung issued directions on how to avoid possible tears. On the Samsung website, if you click to order, it says that the estimated delivery date is 8/28., more than a month later than the July 24 original date, with Best Buy following suit. Meanwhile, Amazon pulled its listing for the earbuds altogether. In some damage control cases, Samsung has released several statements apologizing for the issues and sending emails to customers informing them of the upcoming delay. We reached out to Samsung but have not gotten a response.

It’s definitely a bummer because the Buds 3 Pro has earned high praise in several reviews, including Gizmodo, where the futuristic-looking buds earned an impressive 4.5 stars. But in the grand scheme, it’s better that the company catch the problem now rather than court a bigger PR nightmare if the defective earbuds made it into the hands of excited consumers.
