With Deadpool & Wolverine inching ever closer this week, Hot Toys have revealed a few updates to their action figure offerings for the movie. While Deadpool is getting upgraded with some accessories that might be best saved for after you’ve seen the movie, the company’s new Wolverine is hoping to be enough of a tempting distraction to keep you from looking at those would-be spoilers.
Just as the film prepares to begin screening widely tomorrow, Hot Toys has revealed a few updates to its Deadpool figure in the form of a few extra accessories inspired by events of the film that, for the most part, have been kept out of all the trailers and footage shown so far. In the meantime then, let’s first take a look at the brand new Wolverine figure revealed too: one with a bit less padding than the last Hot Toys Wolverine we looked at.
Hot Toys Deadpool & Wolverine Wolverine (Jacket Version)
Yes, an entirely separate figure just to get us a Hugh Jackman with less clothes on. The Jacket Wolverine includes, well, a jacket, which can be zipped up to hide or expose his immaculate musculature: the only parts of Wolverine’s suit that the figure comes with are battle-damaged versions of his boots, leggings, and his mask. Instead, you get a very beefy Logan, with a seamless upper body up to the neck, all the better to admire his physique with. As well that, he has an extra katana and a still-to-be-revealed accessory.
It seems like a bit of a weird variant to make, but when you’re trying to keep the audience away from spoilers, “Logan takes his shirt off at some point and is also, as a noted Weeb, going to use a katana at some point” is not that much of a spoiler. Save that instead for the new accessories confirmed to come with the standard release of Deadpool… last chance to turn away now if you want to remain unspoiled!
Hot Toys Deadpool & Wolverine Deadpool Accessory Reveal
We knew the Deadpool Corps were going to be in the movie, but this is our first proper look at least some of them. We already knew about Dogpool, but we now know at least that we’re getting Headpool and Babypool as accessories too (and perhaps fourth, separate release of a Kid Deadpool, who is teased in one of the images of the set). In the comics, Headpool was the Wade Wilson of Earth-2149, a.k.a. the reality of Marvel Zombies, reduced to a head when the Zombies invaded Earth-616 during 2008’s Marvel Zombies 3. Babypool, meanwhile, is less of a specific character. It’s just Deadpool but a baby, do you really need much of an explainer?
While Headpool doesn’t come with any extras outside of his stand, Babypool includes two bottle accessories, as well as extra alternative eye masks to give him different reactions. Oh, and of course, a baby carrier to strap to Adult Wade’s torso. Safe and practical for any gunfights you’re bringing a baby into.
The Hot Toys Deadpool & Wolverine Deadpool is set to release later this year, but you’ll have to wait a bit longer for shirtless Hugh Jackman on your toy shelf: the Jacket Version of Wolverine isn’t due until late 2025.
